For the Heritage Design Edition, the rim is arranged in a cloverleaf pattern. This is a revived style, which pairs well with the wheel hub’s vintage 1963 logo. Meanwhile, the model’s top brings a modern touch with its capabilities. The top removable roof can fold out and back behind the Targa Bar in just 15 seconds.

Inside every Porsche 911 Targa 4S Heritage Edition is a two-tone interior and offers a wide variety of distinct detail. The seats themselves offer interior door trims of corduroy, as the instruments and A-pillars are leather-trimmed. The History of the Porsche Cayenne

As the total number of Porsche Cayenne vehicles created hits the one million mark, we thought it would be interesting to see how this luxury SUV came into existence. From saving the Porsche industry to becoming a luxury vehicle with sporty elements, the Cayenne has had an incredible ride.

How was the Porsche Cayenne Created?

Starting in 1986 the Porsche industry was in crisis. With the number of vehicles sold each year dwindling, manufacturers needed to think of a vehicle that would represent the future of cars. The creation of the Boxster and 911 vehicles helped the Porsche brand in the 1990s to increase sales, but Porsche knew it needed to think outside the box to be prepared for the next century of vehicles. Soon, the “Colorado” project was created. The goal was to work with Volkswagen, so both brands could create off-road vehicles.

Porsche wanted to create a SUV that also exhibited luxury and sporty features. By 1998 the Cayenne was announced to the public, but it did not have its final name yet. In 2002, the Cayenne made its debut at the Paris Motor Show. Little did the production team know that this was just the beginning in what would be a three-generation vehicle that would continue to thrive two decades later.

How has the Porsche Cayenne Changed Over the Years?

The first Porsche Cayenne created only had the Turbo and S models available. Soon, the Turbo S and GTS models were created to add to the first generation. This was followed by the Diesel model. It should be noted that more than 275,000 of these models were created altogether. The second generation of the Cayenne-which launched in 2010-included the S Hybrid and then the S E-Hybrid. By 2014 Porsche had the first plug-in hybrid Cayenne, which was in the premium SUV segment. By 2017, the third generation of the Porsche Cayenne was introduced to the world. This included many updates to the already beloved Cayenne models. Porsche focused on advancing and perfecting features, such as the driving dynamics, usability, and becoming more fuel efficient.

What is the Galpin Wunderground? 

For anyone who is passionate about Porsche or wants to learn more about the brand, the Galpin Wunderground brings together a significant collection of rare and special vehicles from across the country to tell Porsche’s story. You will learn about the brand’s history from the founder designing the iconic style in 1948 to today. 

When can I visit the display? 

The Galpin Wunderground hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm and Sunday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. The display can be booked ahead of time for events. You can choose to have your events catered and we do offer valet.  

Which vehicles were previously displayed at Galpin Wunderground? 

Some of our displays have ranged from the 1955 Porsche 550/1500 RS SPYDER to the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo. We always keep a range of vehicles to see and always are switching up the display.   

Other amenities offered at Porsche Santa Clarita 

There is more than just the Galpin Wunderground to enjoy at Porsche Santa Clarita. Our dealership houses the Boxenstopp Restaurant which offers a combination of American and German-inspired dishes to enjoy. There is also the Porsche Design Boutique and Porsche Driver’s Selection Boutique.

More range with the Cayenne E-Hybrid

The pure-electric powertrain of the Cayenne E-Hybrid has had an upgrade to give it more range. Keep reading to learn more details about the Cayenne E-Hybrid performance and its upgrades .

Optimized driving modes

The standard Sport Chrono Package’s driving modes have been optimized to improve Cayenne E-Hybrid efficiency and performance. The way the battery charges provides a way of ensuring that full recuperation power is always available. Always charged to a minimum level, the battery provides sufficient boost options in the Sport and Sport Plus modes.

Porsche Mobile Charger Connect

Since most drivers charge their vehicles at home, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a conventional domestic or industrial electrical socket, so charging is more efficient. Using the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, the Cayenne E-Hybrid has a charging power of up to 7.2 kW. There is a timer setting to ensure the vehicle is ready when the driver is ready to go. The Porsche Connect App gives drivers the ability to control all the functions of their phones.

More about the Cayenne E-Hybrid powertrain

The Cayenne E-Hybrid has a V6 engine with the option to upgrade to the V8 bi-turbo engine in the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid models. While these models are electric, the Sport or Sport Plus driving modes allow for drivers to switch to using the internal combustion engine.

Boxenstopp at Porsche Santa Clarita 

A unique feature of the Porsche Santa Clarita dealership is the Boxenstopp restaurant. Whether you are waiting on a service or are looking for something tasty to eat, check out our restaurant.  

What you can expect 

The Boxenstopp specializes in American and German cuisine. Some of the menu items include breakfast, sandwiches, pasta and salad. There is a kids’ menu as well which offers Mac n’ Cheese, Cheeseburgers, Hot Dogs (American or German-style) and Schnitzel and Apple Strudel. For a lighter snack, menu options include pretzels, French fries, chips, fruits and more.  

Delivery is available 

Boxenstopp is available on delivery apps like GrubHub, DoorDash and Uber Eats. The restaurant also offers catering for small and larger groups. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Sundays the restaurant is closed.
