History of Porsche: Creating sports car for 70 years

The history behind Porsche Porsche has a global presence as a luxury brand and well-known for its sports cars. The birth of Porsche On June 8, 1948, Porsche received its registration for its 356 “No.1” Roadster. Ferry Porsche had a dream of sporty driving and he made it official on that day. His vision has reached over 70 years and the brand still reflects many of the same traditional values since the birth of Porsche. Pioneering innovations Before the official birth of Porsche, there was the Lohner-Porsche. This electric vehicle was built in 1900 by Ferry’s father, Professor Ferdinand Porsche. Later in 1900, he provided a template for hybrid vehicles with a gasoline and electric mixed drive. In 1939 the basis of an idea as Porsche as a sports car sprouted. The Porsche 911 – successor to the 356 A breakthrough from Porsche was from Ferry Porsche’s son Ferdinand Alexander when he helped the company design the Porsche 911. Presented to the world in 1963, it was one of the world’s most technically and stylistically leading sports cars. All Porsche models from there on have been modeled after that 911. To help, Porsche is extending new car warranties by three months for warranties expiring between March 1 and May 31. Keep reading to learn more. Response to the Coronavirus As a way to continue to help Porsche customers, the company has decided to extend warranties by three months for those who have new vehicles or whose expiration date was drawing near. This means if someone's expiration date was on March 20, 2020, the extension would go until June 20, 2020. Customers do not need to do anything, and the dates will be changed automatically . The car warranty will always be valid for a minimum of two years and starts the day a customer receives the vehicle . Other Coronavirus notes When the pandemic started, all Porsche plants were shut down. Since then, they have started back up on May 4, 2020. Due to the lack of production, customers should expect a la g with delivery dates but once operations are back to normal, delivery dates will soon be specified.
