4 Driving Modes of Panamera E-Hybrid Models

E-Power Mode

When you start the Panamera E-Hybrid, it usually defaults to E-Power mode. This setting uses the electric motor alone for a smooth, silent drive. It’s ideal for city commutes or early morning drives where quiet performance matters most. Moreover, it allows for short-distance travel without fuel consumption or local emissions. However, if you need extra power, the gas engine kicks in automatically to help.

Hybrid Auto Mode

Hybrid Auto mode automatically chooses between electric, gas, or both power sources depending on how and where you drive. For instance, it may use electric drive on level roads and a gas engine for climbing. Additionally, this mode maximizes efficiency by shutting off the combustion engine when coasting. It also uses regenerative braking to recharge the battery, helping extend the electric range over time.

SPORT Mode

In SPORT mode, things get more exciting. The Panamera’s gas engine stays active, and the electric motor adds a boost when needed. This results in sharper throttle response, more dynamic handling, and increased acceleration. It’s especially fun on twisty roads or mountain passes. In fact, SPORT mode captures the signature Porsche feel.

SPORT PLUS Mode

SPORT PLUS is the most aggressive mode and best suited for track-style driving. Not only does it activate both motors for peak output, but it also uses the combustion engine to recharge the battery. That means you always have full electric torque available for boosting. Additionally, its gear shifts are faster, and suspension dynamics are tuned for performance.
