Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors 

Installed in the 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S, the two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors paired with the 93.4 kWh performance battery gives superior driving dynamics. Both these allow for the 2020 Porsche Taycan to switch effortlessly between efficiency and a powerful drive.  

Transmission 

For noticeably improved driving dynamics, the automatically switching two-speed transmission helps provide high power density and high continuous output. 



Overboost 

To push the limits, the overboost in the 2020 Porsche Taycan is activated with the Launch Control to output 750 horsepower to push the vehicle to go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. With repetition, the 2020 Porsche Taycan has the ability to have a top track speed of 161 mph. 

Battery 

We mentioned the 93.4 kWh performance battery but there’s more to it that is worth mentioning. Most performance batteries have the usual 400 volts, the battery in the 2020 Porsche Taycan has 800-volt technology. This improves charging and drive performance while having smaller cable cross-sections keeping the overall weight lighter.
