A Quick Overview of the HomeLink System

The HomeLink system lets you control up to three radio devices, such as garage doors, gates, or home lighting. Everything operates through the interior mirror, keeping your dashboard clutter-free. Before starting, check compatibility on the HomeLink website or by contacting your Porsche dealer.

Step-By-Step Guide for Setting up HomeLink

Prepare Your Vehicle and Remote

Begin by parking your Porsche close to the garage, ensuring visual contact with the remote-controlled device. For combustion-engine models, turn on the ignition but leave the engine off. If you’re using a remote control, consider replacing its batteries to avoid weak signal transmission during set-up.

Programming HomeLink

  • Tap “HomeLink” on your Porsche Communication Management (PCM) screen.
  • Select the button you’d like to program. The options correspond to the buttons on the interior mirror.
  • Hold your garage door remote close to the mirror. Press and hold the remote’s button until the HomeLink icon flashes.

For Rolling Code Systems

Additional steps may be necessary if your garage door uses a rolling code. Press the “Learn” button on the garage door opener, then return to your Porsche and resend the signal. Once the garage door moves, confirm the set-up on your PCM. Once programmed, press the button on the mirror when within range of the garage. Return to the PCM’s HomeLink menu to change or delete button assignments.
